Flowers: Flowers in inconspicuous, axillary inflorescences. Flowers unisexual, minute. Calyx absent. Corolla (petals) absent. Staminate flowers comprising 2 connate stamens. Ovary superior (pistillate flowers), 1-carpellate, 1-celled; ovules numerous, in 4–6 rows. Flowers solitary.

Fruit: Berries. Seeds numerous.
